Welcome to my portfolio! I am an aspiring software engineer embarking on a degree in Software Engineering at the University of Roehampton. cash which involved counting safes, handling large quantities of money at a time
whilst inputing the results into a spreadsheet, scanning and filing
important documents and balancing the cash registers so they were
ready for the following day.

and responding appropriately to queries.

Work Experience Volunteer Brighton Electric Recording Studios | Brighton, East Sussex
• Volunteered in my summer holiday to gain work experience (school
opportunity cancelled due to Covid-19 pandemic).
• Worked 9-4pm Monday to Friday, which involved leaving home to
commute on the train at 7.30am each day.
• Tasks involved checking equipment, inputting stock on the computer,
data entry for central software, testing amps, rehearsal room
maintenance, restocking the shop and upkeep of the studio.
• Feedback received by employers - 'It was an absolute pleasure
working with Jack - I was really impressed with his application and
he demonstrated a lot of maturity in his work.'

Achievements
Gold Duke of Edinburgh
I completed my Gold Duke of Edinburgh Award, which involved a series of challenging yet rewarding activities. For my activity section, I participated in instructed climbing for 18 months, while for the skill section, I took bass guitar lessons for 12 months. For the volunteering component, I worked with the Cub Scouts for 12 months. My practice expedition took place in the Peak District, and for my final expedition, I spent five days in Snowdonia, including three nights of wild camping. Additionally, I completed a five-day residential course where I received first aid training and paddleboard training. Throughout the Duke of Edinburgh Award, I developed numerous essential skills such as teamwork, leadership, problem-solving, and resilience.

Maintaining my motivation through various changes, I successfully completed the Duke of Edinburgh Award during the Covid-19 pandemic. For the skill section, I learned to play the bass guitar for 6 months. For the activity component, I committed to riding my bike an agreed distance each week for three months. My voluntary work involved helping to maintain an elderly neighbour’s garden and greenhouse for 3 months. Additionally, I attended training sessions that covered basic first aid, including CPR, setting up a tent, using a Trangia stove, planning routes, and developing map and compass skills.
